AfterinstallingaRoamAboutswitch,prepareitforRASMconfigurationandmanagementby
configuringIPconnectivitybetweentheRoamAboutSwitchandRASM.UsetheWebQuickStart
(ifavailable),orenterthequickstartcommandattheCLIprompt.
FormoreinformationaboutconfiguringinitialRoamAboutSwitchconnectivity,refertothe

TheRoamAboutSwitchalsorequiresanadministrativecertificatetoenableRASMmanagement
access.Iftheswitchdoesnotalreadyhavecertificates,MSSautomaticallygeneratesthemduring
thefirstsystemboottimeusing MSSVersion4.2orlater.Youdonotneedtoinstallcertificates
unlessyouwanttoreplacethoseautomaticallygeneratedbyMSS.(Formoreinformation,referto

Upload the RoamAbout Switch Configuration into a RASM
Network Plan
RetrievethebasicconfigurationinformationyouaddedtotheRoamAboutswitchanduploadit
intoRASM.
To upload the RoamAbout switch configuration into a RASM network plan
1. SelecttheConfigurationtoolbaroption.
2. IntheTaskListpanel,selectUploadMobilityExchange.
3. IntheIPAddressbox,typetheIPaddressfortheRoamAboutSwitch.
4. IntheEnablePasswordbox,typetheenablepasswordfortheRoamAboutSwitch.
Thispasswordmustmatchtheenablepasswordthatwasdefinedusingthe
CLIcommandset
enablepass.Formoreinformation,refertotheRoamAboutMobilitySystemSoftware
ConfigurationGuide.
5. ClickNext.Theuploadingprogressisshown.
6. AftertheSuccessfullyuploadeddevicemessageisdisplayed,clickNext.
RoamAboutSwitchManagerusesitsverificationrulestochecktheswitch’sconfiguration.If
aniteminthe
configurationgeneratesanerrororwarning,RoamAboutSwitchManager
displaystheerrororwarningmessage.
7. Reviewtheverificationmessagestodeterminewhetheryouwillneedtomakechangestothe
switch’sconfigurationafteruploadingitintoRoamAboutSwitchManager.
