Create a Service Profile
Aserviceprofilecontainstheconfigurationfortheserviceyouwanttooffer,suchasemployee
access,guestaccess,ormulti‐hostedaccess.
Formoreinformationaboutserviceprofiles,referto“WirelessConfiguration”onpage 2‐7.For
moreinformationaboutwirelessservices,referto“WhichServicestoProvide?”on
page 2‐2.
Tocreateaserviceprofile:
1. SelecttheConfigurationtoolbaroption.
2. IntheOrganizerpanel,clicktheplussignnexttotheRoamAboutSwitch.
3. ClicktheplussignnexttoWireless.
4. SelectWirelessServices.
5. IntheTaskListpanel,selectoneofthefollowing:
• 802.1XServiceProfile—Provideswirelessaccessto802.1X
clients.
• VoiceServiceProfile—ProvideswirelessaccesstoVoiceoverIP(VoIP)devices.
• Web‐PortalServiceProfile—Provideswirelessaccesstoclientswhologinusingaweb
page.
• OpenAccessServiceProfile—Provideswirelessaccesstoclientswithoutrequiringthem
tologin.
• CustomServicePro file—Provideswirelessaccessbasedon
thecombinationofoption
youchoose.(Usethisoptiononlyifnoneoftheotheroptionsappliestothetypeofservice
youwanttooffer.)
Awizardforconfiguringtheserviceprofileappears.
6. Readthefirstpageofthewizard,andclickNext.
7. Edittheserviceprofile,andtypeanSSID
name.
8. Editadditionalsettingsasapplicabletothetypeofserviceprofileyouarecreating.

Notes: Authentication is attempted in the following order: 802.1X authentication, MAC
authentication, then fall through authentication. For more information about authentication, refer
