Usage
ThedefaultvalueforLoop Protectcapablepartnerisfalse.IftheportisconfiguredwithaLoop
Protectcapablepartner(true),thenthefullfunctionality oftheLoopProtectfeature isused.Ifthe
valueisfals e,thenthereissomeambiguityastowhetheranActivePartnertimeoutis
duetoa
loopprotectioneventorisanormalsituationduetothefactthatthepartnerportdoesnot
transmitAlternateAgreementBPDUs.Therefore,aconservativeapproachistakeninthat
designatedportswillnotbeallowedtoforwardunlessreceivingagreementsfromaportwithroot
role.
This
typeoftimeoutwillnotbeconsideredaloopprotectionevent.Loopprotectionismaintained
bykeepingtheportfromforwardingbutsincethisisnotconsideredaloopeventitwillnotbe
factoredintolockingtheport.
